Testimonial

“After receiving my Master of Public Health degree in 2016, I interned at the Chinese Community Health Resource Center (CCHRC) in San Francisco, California, for two months. My contributions to this internship included: assisted in management of chronic disease medication education, mental health support group, and smoking cessation program with REDCap; designed the poster Benefits of in-language support group among Chinese caregivers of individuals with mental health disorders for the APHA 2016 conference to address mental health issue in Chinese American communities; collaborated with Asian American Public Health Youth Leadership Academy (AAPHYLA) to write a manuscript on how to encourage teenagers to contribute to public and community health. The internship experience at CCHRC inspired me to look at public health issues from a multi-ethnic aspect. Through collaboration with Asian American teenagers, I felt the urgency and commitment to educate our next generation to be aware of the importance of public health. I would recommend this internship program at CCHRC to applicants who desire to gain experience in public health or community health.”
